After wrapping up the final season of the FOX musical dramedy GLEE, Jane Lynch decided to take her musical comedy talents on the road and kicked off the "See Jane Sing" tour on March 6th in Austin, TX.
In an article in today's New York Post, Lynch said of the new venture, "We kinda started it at 54 Below with four nights there. It's a 90-minute show including my opening act, Tim Davis, who's a wonderful crooner and a good friend of mine. It's fast-paced and hopefully really funny with many different varieties of music; we've got a couple of jazz numbers and some Broadway songs we've re-imagined. We have an angle on everything."
"Parks and Rec" star Kate Flannery joins Lynch in the show to bring her own brand of humor. Explains Lynch, "She comes on almost a third of the way through and sings backup. She's hilarious. We have our little patter; she's both supporting me and doing her own thing. She's a great sidekick - as a sidekick myself I totally appreciate that."
The "Hollywood Game Night," host revealed that the idea for the tour came to her after her appearance as Miss Hannigan in the recent Broadway revival of Annie. "I did straight plays and Second City back in Chicago and I've always loved to sing," she says. "And doing 'Annie' reignited that fire."
Below, watch Lynch and Flannery in action as they perform their own take on the classic number, "Far From The Home I Love,"from "Fiddler on the Roof"
