The great American tradition of marching bands rousing crowds at parades, football games and ceremonies goes as far back as the 1800s. And while compositions by John Philip Sousa, such as "Stars and Stripes Forever" and "The Washington Post" are among the most popular selections of the march repertoire, Broadway marches such as Cy Coleman's "Hey, Look Me Over!" from WILDCAT, Elmer Bernstein's "Step To The Rear" from HOW NOW, DOW JONES and, of course, Meredith Willson's "76 Trombones" from THE MUSIC MAN have also made their way into the song book.

But can hip-hop be orchestrated into a march? Apparently so, because Steven Meisler and Sam Pasternack have penned a march arrangement of "My Shot," the thrilling anthem of ambition sung by the title character of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway smash, HAMILTON, for The Penn Band of The University of Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1897, The Penn Band was the first collegiate band to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and has earned nationwide acclaim through countless national broadcasts and concerts and performances for numerous American presidents and state leaders.

Their stirring video was filmed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."

The cast of Hamilton is comprised of Lin-Manuel Miranda (Alexander Hamilton), Daveed Diggs (Marquis De Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Rory O'Malley (King George), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler, Maria Reynolds), Javier Muñoz (Hamilton alternate), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan, James Madison), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Aaron Burr), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens, PhilipHamilton) and Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton).

HAMILTON is the acclaimed new musical about the scrappy young immigrant Alexander Hamilton, the $10 Founding Father who forever changed America with his revolutionary ideas and actions. During his life cut too short, he served as George Washington's chief aide, was the first Treasury Secretary, a loving husband and father, despised by his fellow Founding Fathers and shot to death by Aaron Burr in their legendary duel.
