Created by the National Basketball Association in 1996, the WNBA has given women athletes a rare opportunity have their skills showcased in one of America's most popular team sports. The players of the WNBA have served as community role models to young girls, opening their eyes to the infinite possibilities ahead.
In Lin-Manual Miranda's Broadway smash HAMILTON, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo and Jasmine Cephas Jones play a trio of women who might also serve as role models to young girls attending performances at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. While living in a world where men make the decision, Angelica, Eliza and Peggy Schuyler are determined to live their lives on their own terms.
The three stars of the 16-time Tony nominated musical worked their three part harmonies before the Madison Square Garden crowd at Sunday's New York Liberty home opener against the Dallas Wings. The locals took a close one, 79-71.
