VIDEO: HAMILTON Cast Members Hold Q&A at Facebook

Daveed Diggs, Okieriete Onaodowan, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Rory O'Malley were among the cast members of Lin-Manuel Miranda's smash hit HAMILTON taking part in a half-hour livestreamed Q&A on Facebook this afternoon.

The first subject approached was how social media has intensified fan interest on not just the musical, but on each individual artist involved. Then, Facebook subscribers were invited to post their own questions.

Some of the fun facts revealed:

• The most followed person from the cast on social media is the swing Andrew Chappelle.
• The cast discusses that social media is intrinsically tied to the show, as a way for fans to connect directly with stars and stars to update fans.
• The importance of #EduHam and raising a new generation of theater lovers.
• With the high production musical numbers of the show reaching the double digits, the cast finds itself needing to ramp up again around "Room Where it Happens."
• Cast members point to Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gene Kelly, Mariah Carey, Lena Horne, Whoopi Goldberg, and more as the stars that made them interested in theater.

The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehlerand music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."
