VIDEO: GLEE's Chris Colfer Addresses Recent Twitter Hacking: 'It Was Really Upsetting'

Following a flurry of false reports last week that Glee star Chris Colfer was 'let go' from the FOX musical dramedy, the actor's manager revealed that the star's verified Twitter account has been hacked and confirmed that the actor would indeed return for the final season of the show and in fact, has a signed contract for season six.

Yesterday, the actor addressed the hacking of his Twitter account in an interview with the AP. "It was really upsetting because I try to stay oout of theheadlines as much as I can, unless I am a promoting a book or a movie or something," said Colfer. "it's always so unfortunate when something unfortunate happens to you is when it gets the biggest amount of attention."

Following the initial false reports, Studio 20th Century FOX Television issued a statement confirming that Colfer will be back for the final season. "We've been alerted that Chris Colfer's Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Gleecould not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season."

The original report said that Colfer revealed on Twitter: "Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of Glee. Explanations will come shortly." The following day, Glee star Lea Michele's Twitter account was hacked, posting false reports that the actress was pregnant.

Colfer recently wrote and starred in the film Struck by Lightning. He will soon release the third installment of his children's book series The Land of Stories.

FOX recently announced that Glee will not return to the line up until 2015 with a shortened season.
