"FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME" (FLS) is a musical comedy show like no other, and is coming to Seeso June 23 with newly captured scenes with the original cast, including Broadway's hit Tony Award-nominated musical "HAMILTON's" Lin-Manuel Miranda ("HAMILTON" and "IN THE HEIGHTS") and Christopher Jackson("HAMILTON"), as well as Utkarsh Ambudkar ("THE MINDY PROJECT"), Chris Sullivan ("THE ELECTRIC COMPANY") and Anthony Veneziale ("THE ELECTRIC COMPANY"). BWW brings you a sneak peek below!
"It's crazy to think about how long we've been performing as a group. The number of boy bands we've outlived in that time is staggering! No matter what happens in each of our lives, we all come back to 'Freestyle Love Supreme.' It's our touchstone, and it's gratifying to be able to share this series anew with the world," said Lin-Manuel Miranda.
"Bringing an authentic style of comedy, improvisation and storytelling to the world is why FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME was created -- looks like we found a perfect match with Seeso. The fresh material that we filmed gave us a chance to explore our roots and innovate on the future with new interviews, jam sessions and of course ridiculous rhymes," said Anthony Veneziale.
The series takes the crowd on a non-stop, hip-hop improv ride, spinning cues from the live-audience into instantaneous riffs and fully realized musical numbers. The original "FLS" crew also included orchestrator and music producer Bill Sherman ("INTO THE HEIGHTS," Grammy Award Winning "HAMILTON" Cast Album, "SESAME STREET") and founding member Arthur Lewis. "FLS" will exclusively be available to stream on all Seeso platforms beginning June 23.
"These are the most supremely talented guys we've ever met. We feel lucky to have FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME streaming exclusively on Seeso," said Evan Shapiro, Executive Vice President, Digital Enterprises, NBCUniversal.
"FLS" was created by Thomas Kail ("HAMILTON" and "IN THE HEIGHTS") and Anthony Veneziale, and Executive Produced by Kail, Veneziale, Jon Steingart, Jill Furman, Jillian Apfelbaum, and Directed by Ryan McFaul ("INSIDE AMY SCHUMER").
