The British television series, WISH YOU WERE HERE...?, premiering in 1974, took viewers on thirty-minute tours of exciting travel locations.

Naturally, New York City was a featured choice in the program's first year. This seven minute video from 1974, set to Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," will surely bring back memories to older readers and fascinate younger ones.

The Winter Garden and Shubert Theatres are seen, as well as the marquee of the Majestic boasting A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC as the season's best musical.

Favorite hangouts include O'Henry's, Jimmy Day's, Fraunces Tavern and, of course Central Park.
