Following the Wednesday evening performance of HAMILTON, the cast remained on stage to pay tribute to the late recording artist Prince, who passed away yesterday at the age of 57. Below, watch the cast's performance of the Prince classic, "Let's Go Crazy."
Prince sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the first year of his eligibility. Rolling Stone ranked Prince at number 27 on its list of THE 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
About HAMILTON: The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composerLin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."
