A new Cuban production of Broadway's RENT, presented by Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, marks the first Broadway musical with a full all-Cuban cast, musicians and first-class production elements produced in the nation of Cuba in in over 50 years.

This new production of RENT is part of Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment's ongoing mission to bring Broadway musical theatre to new and emerging markets around the globe. Mr. Nederlander commented, "After several years in the making, we're thrilled to bring this authentic Broadway production to the people of Cubaand hope to continue working with the Cuban National Council of Performing Arts for years to come."
The Spanish translation of the musical opened on Christmas Eve at Havana's Bertolt Brecht Theatre to dignitaries and theater people invited by the Cuban National Council of Performing Arts and to the general public on Friday, December 26th. The show's Cuban-American director Andy Señor, Jr. recently told the Miami Herald, "We rocked the roof off the theater." The first several weekends have sold out with tickets costing the U.S. equivalent of 50 cents. RENT will continue its run of weekend shows through March 2015.
