With only six contestants left, three performance shows to go, and $5 million to be awarded, the competition heated up on last night's THE X FACTOR on FOX. This week the Top 6 performed twice, an unplugged song and The Pepsi Challenge song which was chosen for them by fans.
Broadway's Carly Rose Sonenclar chose to take on Justin Bieber's "As Long as You Love Me" for her unplugged number and wowed the judges with her vocal abilities. "I love you so much," said L.A. Demi concurred saying, "you sang it better than Justin did." Simon predicted, "I am seeing a star emerge," and Britney was proud with a capital "P!
For her Pepsi Challenge song, the young singer performed Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy". Said L.A., "every time you step onstage I get nervous because I know you're going to be very, very good." Demi's only criticism was that she would have preferred something more 'up-tempo' but Simon quickly countered, "Don't listen to a single word that this one [Demi] just said."
Check out both performances below!
Tune in tonight at 8/7c on FOX to find out which two acts will go home and for live performances by Ke$ha and Melanie Amaro.
Sonenclar has appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and Wonderland, and has also taken the stage in NYMF's The Night of the Hunter (2006) and the national tour of Little House on the Prairie the Musical.
