On last night's part one of THE X FACTOR season finale, Carly Rose Sonenclar pulled out all the stops to prove she has what it takes to land the $5 million record deal. The 13-year-old gave three performances: a second, more polished version of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good," a celeb-duet with LeAnn Rimes to "How Do I Live," and finally, Leona Lewis' version of Leonard Cohen's classic "Hallelujah."
On her "Feeling Good" performance, L.A. Reid said, "This is a defining moment and you have to top everything you've done - and you did."
After Sonenclar took the stage with country 90s singer, Rimes, Britney said the performance was "shockingly amazing." Rimes had nothing but good things to say about the teenage powerhouse as well: "I love this girl so much. She's such an amazing talent."
On her final performance to "Hallelujah," Simon conceded. "You've had a good night," he said - followed by Britney's: "I feel like that song alone is worth 5 million bucks, so you should get out that checkbook Simon."
Sonenclar has appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and Wonderland, and has also taken the stage in NYMF's The Night of the Hunter (2006) and the national tour of Little House on the Prairie the Musical.
The winner of THE X FACTOR season 2 airs tonight.
