TV and film star America Ferrara stopped by this morning's TODAY to talk about hitting the stage in the new play "Lips Together, Teeth Apart," where she portrays a woman spending the Fourth of July with her husband and friends. Check out the appearance below!
Second Stage Theatre's production of TERRENCE McNALLY's play, Lips Together, Teeth Apart, directed by PETER DuBOIS, began preview performances on October 7.
Featuring MICHAEL CHERNUS (Obie Award winner for In the Wake), TRACEE CHIMO (Lortel Award winner for Bad Jews, 2ST Uptown's Bachelorette), AMERICA FERRERA (Emmy Award winner for "Ugly Betty") and AUSTIN LYSY (2ST's The Water's Edge), the production will officially open on Wednesday, October 29.
It's the 4th of July on Fire Island where a brother and sister and their spouses are spending the quintessential American summer weekend in an unfamiliar setting. As their season in the sun unfolds, the two couples do their best to enjoy themselves despite their prejudices and insecurities. The grill is fired up, the drinks are cold and the pool is open but no one is going in. Terrence McNally's trenchant comedy receives its first New York revival in 23 years under the direction of Peter DuBois.
LIPS TOGETHER, TEETH APART will be performed at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street (just west of Eighth Avenue).
