Your checklist when you turn 40: 1. Mammogram? Check. 2. Breast cancer? Check. .... Wait, what? Oh *%^$&#@(!@($&%*!!!!!! Everyone's a Hero With Somebody Else's Tit is one woman's journey through a tough moment, involving some crying, some laughing, some people trying to help, others just driving you nuts... and fortunately with a happy ending.

Writer/director Pipino who started to write as a coping mechanism discussed her journey, "It all happened by chance. If I hadn't done a mammogram, I'm not sure what would have happened. I ran a half marathon on December 10th and was diagnosed on December 12th. I was in the best of shape! I have always been a very healthy, I eat right, don't smoke, so when that "thing" happened to me I was just really shocked and of course, then came a flood of tears."

Pipino who is now cancer free went on to say, "I'd like the monologue to raise awareness about screenings. They're annoying, time consuming and all, but... hey, look at me. I am also trying to de-demonize breast cancer. It's not a fun ride, for sure, but if you catch it early it resolves quite easily and quickly. I had surgery on December 30th, had radiation for 10 days in February, and I was done. Again, I was lucky. But still, doctors know how to treat breast cancer. Hence: get screenings!"

Performance takes place at Theatre Row/Studio Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street (between 9th & 10th Avenues), New York, NY 10036. Subways: A/C/E to 42nd Street. Tickets are of $35.00 and are available at the Theatre Row Box Office or at http://unitedsolo.org/us/everyonesahero-2017 - or by calling Telecharge at 212-239-6200. Running time: 40 minutes.
