UP Comedy Club Announces Stand-Up and Sketch Comedy Schedule Updates for May - September 2013

Tickets are currently on sale for UP Comedy Club's roster of new shows including special one-time engagements including Jim Gaffigan book signing (May 10), The TOMKAT Project (June 20); stand-ups Dave Foley (September 5-7) and Tony Rock (September 19-22), and UP's special summer sketch show Summer In The Second City (June 21 - August 31). The TOMKAT Project
June 20, 2013

A play that transcends the tabloids to discover the truth behind the marriage of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and The Church of Scientology. Oh, and it's a comedy. Based on actual interviews, (and completely imagined scenes), seven actors portray 54 characters including Oprah Winfrey, David Miscavige, Matt Lauer, Scarlet Johansson, Josh Hartnett, Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone, Cruise/Wagner Partner Paula Wagner, Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman and Suri.

Summer In The Second City
June 21 - August 31, 2014

UP Comedy Club presents "Summer in The Second City" featuring a mix of The Second City's best material from the archives and Chicago-style improvisation. Featuring members of The Second City National Touring Company John Hartman, Nicole Hastings, Adam Peacock, Pat Reidy, Sarah Shook and Emily Walker. Directed by Anthony LeBlanc.

Dave Foley
September 5-7, 2013

Best known as a cast member on the classic sketch comedy show The Kids in the Hall and the star of NBC's NewsRadio, Dave Foley has recently turned his comic talents to stand-up, headlining clubs across America. In recent years, Foley has hosted Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown, reunited with the Kids in the Hall for the miniseries Death Comes to Town, and appeared on the short-lived CBS series How to Be a Gentleman.

Tony Rock
September 19-22, 2013

Comedian and actor, Tony Rock has co-starred for four seasons as Dirk Black on the CW's "All of Us." He also had a recurring role on his older brother Chris Rock's series "Everybody Hates Chris." Tony currently hosts the revamped version of "Apollo Live" and appeared in the hit movie "Think Like A Man" in 2012. He has just completed co-headlining two separate comedy tours "The Royal Comedy Tour" and "No Sleep Till Brooklyn Tour."

Pablo Francisco
May 2-5, 2013

Enjoy an evening of zany comedy and impressions as UP Comedy Club presents Pablo Francisco. From spoofs of melodramatic Spanish-language soap operas and movie trailers to hilarious voices and sound effects, audiences never know what to expect from this manic comedian. His hour-long Comedy Central specials OUCH! and They Put It Out There are two of the network's biggest hits ever, and he's a favorite guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Francisco has also employed his arsenal of impressions as a cast member on FOX's MADtv, and in appearances on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia and The Showbiz Show with David Spade, TBS's Frank TV and The Howard Stern Show.

Ben Bailey
May 10-11, 2013

Known for his quick wit, New Jersey-born stand-up comic Ben Bailey is the two-time Daytime Emmy-winning host of Discovery Channel's hit series Cash Cab and the star of Road Rage on Comedy Central. A regular headliner at Cobb's Comedy Club, Bailey is also the host of Discovery Channel's Best in The Business and this fall, he can be seen hosting the new NBC game show Who's Still Standing that combines an intense trivia match with physical challenges. He's been seen on The Tonight Show and the Late Late Show, and had a role in Spiderman 2.

Everything Is Terrible - Comic Relief Special: A Stand-Up Special

The goof-troupers at Everything is Terrible! (the world's greatest VHS found footage destruction facility) are dishing out their very first, hour-long stand-up comedy special, Comic Relief Zero! The fur-covered, glitter-smothered gang from EIT! will emcee the festivities, bringing all the costumed merriment that has made EIT! live shows (in)famous!

The Sklar Brothers
May 30 - June 1, 2013

The Sklar Brothers, whose sarcastic banter and hilarious one-two timing has made them stars on TV, the Internet and comedy stages around America, headline UP Comedy Club. Twin comics Randy and Jason Sklar, best known for hosting ESPN's Cheap Seats, have also appeared on dozens of TV shows, including Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Chelsea Lately and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and starred in two half-hour Comedy Central stand-up specials. They're regular guest hosts on Jim Rome's radio program, and their weekly sports comedy podcast Sklarbro Country is a hit.

REACH: Risky, Eclectic Artists Comedy Hour
See an urban melting pot of stand-up, music, poetry, performance and improv all in one night! Bringing together the city's most diverse voices in comedy and performance art, REACH artists perform theme driven material on history, women, sex and violence, race and LGBTQ themes in rotation during each monthly second Sunday performance. A portion of ticket sales supports scholarships to emerging talent from Second City Outreach & Diversity.
