Do you want to take the power back in the audition room? To walk out with more comfort and confidence then you did going in? Well join the list! Literally!
Jacob Garrett (J.G.), an actor and director, has been coaching actors of all ages for over five years, and since spring 2017, has developed a unique platform to help high school actors prepare for college auditions. When asked why he began this program, J.G. responded, "Too often young, passionate artists don't have the resources that allow them to hone their talents and prepare for a conservatory like Julliard, CalArts, LAMDA. But through my actor training, love for people, and being the first in my family to graduate college, I have taken joy and responsibility in preparing each student to be the best they can be for the audition season and beyond. And I hope many more young people get to pursue their happiness in life." J.G.'s unique blend of Meisner, Stanislavsky, Shakespeare, Chekhov, improvisation, and directing, has given him a well rounded understanding on the craft of acting that allows him to boil it all down to the essentials.
Since graduating from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, J.G. has made a splash premiering multiple roles Off-Broadway (The Nina Variations, Verona Walls, Heart of Oak). J.G. began to get a reputation in the Off-Broadway theatre circuit for his heart-breaking vulnerability, presence on stage and ease with language, and breathing new life into familiar roles like Romeo and Konstantin. But now, J.G. has gone beyond the stage and into the studio.
