Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund is pleased to announce Our Lady J as the host of this year's Transgender Advocacy Awards, set for Tuesday, June 12, (6:30 - 8:30 PM) at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York City.
Our Lady J is a writer and producer on Ryan Murphy's dance-musical TV series Pose. After a career of making music in both the pop and classical worlds (Sia, American Ballet Theatre, Mark Morris Dance Group), Our Lady J transitioned to writing and producing on the Golden Globe and Emmy -winning series Transparent. She holds the honor of being the first out trans woman to perform at Carnegie Hall, as well as the first out trans writer to be nominated for a Writers Guild Award. She has been featured on Out Magazine's "Out 100," and the Huffington Post's list of "transgender icons."

The Transgender Advocacy Awards cocktail and hors d'oeuvre reception will honor trans activist Cecilia Gentili with the Community Leader Award, TLDEF founder Michael Silverman with the Legacy Award, and journalist Nico Lang with the Visibility Award. Additionally, TLDEF will honor the international law firm Arnold & Porter as TLDEF's Pro Bono Partner of the Year and the global insurance company Chubb with our Corporate Partner of the Year Award.
