Trailer Park Musical Heads into Recording Studios for Sh-K-Boom Oct. 26

Sh-K-Boom Records has signed on to record The Great American Trailer Park Musical, with the cast going into the recording studio on October 26th.  The CD will be commercially released in early 2006, but will first be available exclusively at the beginning of December at Dodger Stages (340 W. 50th St.), or through the show's and Sk-K-Boom's websites.

Billy Jay Stein (Altar Boyz) will produce the recording, and Sh-K-Boom's President Kurt Deutsch will serve as executive producer.

The cast for The Great American Trailer Park Musical includes Marya Grandy, Linda Hart (Hairspray), Tony Award-winner Shuler Hensley (Oklahoma!), Kaitlin Hopkins (Noises Off, Bat Boy), Leslie Kritzer (Hairspray), Orfeh (Saturday Night Fever, Footloose) and Wayne Wilcox ("Gilmore Girls").

The Great American Trailer Park Musical, with music and lyrics by David Nehls and book and direction by Betsy Kelso, began performances at Dodger Stages on Saturday, August 20th.  The production's choreography is by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys), with sets by Derek McLane, costumes by Markas Henry, lighting by Tony Award winner Donald Holder and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald.  The show is produced by Jean Doumanian, Jeffrey Richards, and Rick Steiner/The Osher, Staton, Bell Group, in association with Janet Pailet.

Sh-K-Boom Records is a record label, a producer of recorded and live entertainment, and an interactive community devoted to the mission of bridging the gap between pop music and theatre. Founded by Kurt Deutsch and Sherie Rene Scott in 2000, Sh-K-Boom and its Ghostlight Records division have released over 20 albums, produced over 50 live concerts in their Sh-K-Boom Room Concert Series, and is developing new projects for the stage and screen.  Recent recordings include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Altar Boyz, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Little Women.  Sh-K-Boom is also developing original Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals, as well as other recording projects with New Generation Broadway artists and composers.
