Topshop has just launched its leading new retail outlet over four floors of Sydney's Gowings Building. The internationally successful brand has used GlobalShopfitters for this retail project after the success of their previous launch in Melbourne in 2011, which was an Australian first for the retail outlet. The choice to use GlobalShopfitters, due to their reputation for high end quality fit-outs, produced within tight project management timeframes, has paid off with the opening creating hysteria from the shopping public with an estimated 30,000 shoppers coming through the doors on the first day. Rarely has Sydney seen such a retail launch, with customers who were vying to be the first through the doors camping outside overnight leading to huge queues in George St. at opening time.

One of the Unique Features of the new store will be the opportunity for shoppers to use their own personal shopping service with a Topshop stylist working directly with them to create a look and style unique to the individual customer. The world class fit-out by GlobalShopfitters adds another quality store to Topshop's 400 stores worldwide. Since the brand opened its first store in 1964 it has become one of the world's most successful brands with its flagship store located in the heart of London's West End shopping district at Oxford Circus attracting over 200,000 shoppers per week.

Sydney's outlet will have the whole top floor of the development dedicated to TopMan targeting young male customers. David Shepherd, Managing Director of TopMan, said of the success of their first outlet "Melbourne has performed better than we anticipated and we see a massive opportunity to improve our position further in Sydney. Our product does stand out in this market – it looks different, it's more fashion forward and it's competitive." Topshop avoids the fashion pitfalls other retailers fall into by flying in stock twice a week to ensure that the latest trends are not only followed but manufactured by the store.

With the success of the Melbourne venture and Topshop's cutting edge supply model, the Sydney store needed to be developed on a grand scale to keep the momentum moving. The store, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, neon signage and energising music required a world class fit-out and GlobalShopfitters have succeeded to create an environment in which the fashion conscious shopper can indulge their shopping expectations.
