It's never too early to spot the rising stars of tomorrow. The National Music Theater Competition is seeking the best emerging music theater soloists, those who just need that one break to move their careers forward! Prizes and awards total more than $10,000 in prizes, presented by the National Association of Teachers of Singing and sponsored by the NATS Foundation.
NMTC has moved to NYC. Semifinal and Final rounds will be held January 5-7, 2018, in New York, in proximity to an audience of artist managers and industry professionals. Approximately 24 singers advance to the semifinal and final rounds. The competition is in conjunction with the National Association of Teachers of Singing Winter Workshop, appropriately themed "Polishing the Apple."
Preliminary rounds will take place in New York City (Oct. 21-22), Chicago (Oct. 28) and Los Angeles (Nov. 5). An online video submission round (deadline Nov. 5) is available for participants who cannot travel to the live audition sites. Applicants must be between ages 20-28 (as of Sept. 15, 2017).
