According to Inquirer, composer Claude-Michel Schonberg (LES MIS, MISS SAIGON) has claimed that the upcoming Manila Production of LES MIS will be 'an entirely different one, unlike anything you had seen before.' AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- has just begun rehearsals for Broadway. The new musical will begin performances at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) on Thursday, March 24, 2016. The Opening Night is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Today in 2008, the first Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George opened at Studio 54, where it ran for 149 performances. Sunday in the Park with George is a 1983 musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. The musical was inspired by the painting 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' by Georges Seurat. The musical won the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, two Tony Awards for design (and a nomination for Best Musical), numerous Drama Desk Awards, the 1991 Olivier Award for Best Musical and the 2007 Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production. World-renowned vocalist Sarah Brightman took on a new kind of role earlier this week at the SpaceshipTwo Christening, singing 'Happy Birthday,' both to Virgin Galactic Founder Richard Branson's granddaughter, Eva-Deia, and the vehicle itself.
