As BWW previously reported, David Mirvish and Frank Gehry are planning a "culture and condo" complex in Toronto's Entertainment District that would involve demolishing The Princess of Wales theatre. Mirvish wrote the following letter to the media in response to this news, addressing his and Gehry's new project, their decision to tear down the Princess of Wales Theatre, and their plans to continue Ed Mirvish's legacy. The multi-talented artist conducted an intimate interview with actress Linda Lavin, while painting her portrait on the historic Birdland stage. Bullet for Adolf, the outrageous new comedy by Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman, will play its final performance this evening, September 30, 2012 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Previews began on July 19, 2012 with Opening Night on August 8, 2012. The production was originally scheduled to end its limited engagement on Sunday, September 9, but announced an extension shortly following opening night. (more...)

TDF's Autism Theater Initiative will present an autism-friendly performance of Disney's The Lion King today, September 30, at 1pm, at the Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway, NYC). This performances illustrates TDF's commitment to continuing to present autism-friendly performances in New York City.
