Later today, a chapter in Broadway musical history will come to a close when Lin-Manuel Miranda plays his final performance as leading man Alexander Hamilton in HAMILTON. Javier Muñoz - Lin-Manuel Miranda's alternate, who portrayed AlexanderHamilton when President Barack Obama saw Hamilton last July - will step into the title role starting July 11.
Miranda will also play his final performance alongside two other original cast members, 2016 Tony Award winner Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr) and Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton).
