The Gallery has two upcoming receptions at their location at 100A Forsyth Street, New York, NY 10002.
Toomer Labzda Presents Jerry Blackman Closing Reception and Tamara Gayer: The Inside Opening Reception will both be held on July 25 from 6-8PM.
Tamara Gayer creates a site specific kaleidoscopic installation, which focuses on the local and national monument – the Eldridge Street Synagogue in New York City’s Lower East Side. Gayer manipulates, warps, inverts and expands the gallery’s appearance as she reinterprets the exterior and interior of the one hundred and twenty-five year old landmark.
Architectural points are repositioned into geometric patterns and candy store colors, formulating a vibrant multi faceted façade set in its familiar urban landscape. The project and its subject are simultaneously forward looking and historically grounded, constructing a hyper dimensional space.
Toomer Labzda will also present gayer's tendrils in the 13th dimension as part of NADA Hudson's video program.
Summer hours in August are by appointment only. For more information, visit the Toomer Labzda Facebook page.
