NoPassport theatre alliance and press presents reading of OBIE-winner Caridad Svich's new play STAND starring Tonya Pinkins (Broadway's Caroline, or Change; TV's Gotham and 24) Lisa Ramirez (Good Grief, Vineyard Theatre), and Nemuna Ceesay (The Cake, Barrington Stage Company) on December 8, 2018 at 7 PM at the Mary Rodgers Room at The Dramatists Guild in New York City under the direction of Adrian Alexander Alea (Dreaming in Cuban, The Drama League).
STAND is an acoustic electric piece about womxn rage, defiance and ancient power that has been described by TONY Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens as a "beautiful poem of a play: savage and elegant and furious by turns." This is a smash-all-patriarchies text for performance.The piece features the song "no hosanna" by composer O-Lan Jones and lyricist Caridad Svich.
