Comedy Central has given a three-season order for its hit animated comedy series SOUTH PARK. The show will now remain on the air through 2019.
Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone the show will now become cable's longest-running scripted primetime series. It's 19th season will premiere on Sept. 16. The duo penned the hit Broadway musical BOOK OF MORMON, which won nine Tony Awards in 2011, including Best Musical.

Added Parker and Stone in a joint statement, "We love working for Doug and with everyone at Comedy Central. They've given us an insane level of artistic and creative freedom for almost 20 years. They walk the walk."
In addition to creating the hit Broadway musuical BOOK OF MORMON, Parker and Stone were also the force behind the musical film CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL, in addition to the Marc Shaiman movie musical collaboration SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER & UNCUT as well as TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE.
