Tony Winner Melba Moore To Headline Benefit Concert For The Caribbean

Melba Moore - the Tony Award Winning Singer & Actress headlines A Benefit Concert For The Caribbean featuring R&B and Caribbean artists who come together to sing, speak out and raise funds and awareness for Hurricane Relief In the U.S. Virgin Islands and other parts of the Caribbean.

Moore starred in the Broadway musical, Purlie and won the Tony in 1970 for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. In addition, Ms. Moore has also been Grammy nominated for such R&B song favorites as " Lean On Me. " Her acting credits are included in The Fighting Temptations (2003), All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) and Lost in the Stars (1974).


The show also features Grammy-winning R&B Great, Chris Jasper (best known as one of the Isley Brothers) and Rhonda Ross, a singer/songwriter and daughter of Diana Ross & Berry Gordy.


Other performers on the lineup include: world-class musicians, Bashiri Johnson, Rodney Kendrick, Jahstix and Domo Joat. Special guest & opening act is Supa Peach - the teen rapper/ singer born on the Virgin Islands and known as one of the cast of Lifetime TV's Reality series "The Rap Game".

The U.S. Virgin Islands were the only region in the country to be hit by two Category 5 Hurricanes (Irma & Maria) back to back this year. All 3 Islands (St. Thomas, St. John & St. Croix) were devastated as a result leaving countless people homeless. Yet it is the Virgin Islands, which has received little to no mention in the news or attention from the President. Currently, in the U.S. Virgin Islands most people are still without power.


The show is a charitable project produced by creative music & entertainment company, LINNETTE HARRIGAN MEDIA Inc (http://linnetteharriganmedia.com) supporting such charities as Community Foundation of The Virgin Islands. The ticket prices range from $30.55 to $100.


The Benefit Concert date is on November 12th 2017 - 3:00pm - 5:00pm
