On Sunday June 12th the Palm West's Tony Viewing Party was hosted by Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, who earned the Best Featured Actor in a Musical Award in 2006 for his portrayal of Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys. The event benefitted The V Foundation for Cancer Research, founded by Jim Valvano in 1993.

The elegant evening featured selections from the Palm's menu, and wines by sponsor Santa Margherita. Guests enjoyed the Tony broadcast and generously participated in a Silent Auction throughout the evening.

Christian Hoff, a Board Member for The V Foundation's Wine Celebration in Napa, shared his family's experience as his daughter Ella and wife Melissa are thriving and surviving ALL leukemia and breast cancer. He eloquently spoke of The V Foundation's role in research, and how their work is truly changing the future of cancer diagnosis and outcomes.

A highlight of the evening was Hoff signing his caricature on the Palm's new Tony Wall, which also features Hugh Jackman, Jefferson Mays and Ben Vereen among others. Said Hoff, "It was a distinct honor to celebrate the 70th annual Tony Awards at The Palm and kick off the 10th anniversary of my Tony Award by signing my caricature on the new Tony wall! The evening matched the broadcast's sensitive and transforming celebration of Broadway's best by raising awareness and thousands of dollars toward cancer research and patient care for The V Foundation. On behalf of my wife and daughter and millions of others battling this disease, thank you"

Bringing together the Palm and The V Foundation was a great opportunity to join together to make a difference, as Robert Sanchez, Sales Manager of the Palm West, shared: "On behalf of The Palm, we would like to humbly thank you for celebrating The Tonys with us. The partnership between The Palm and The V Foundation is just beginning and we vow to fight as long as the fight is necessary. Congratulations to all of Broadway on a beautiful night and thank you for helping us raise money and awareness for The V Foundation."

The V Foundation for Cancer Research, formed by ESPN and former NCAA coach and ABC/ESPN commentator Jim Valvano in 1993, is one of the nation's leading cancer research funding organizations. They have awarded more than $150 million to over 120 facilities nationwide and thanks to generous donors and an endowment that covers administrative expenses, they proudly can award 100% of direct cash donations to cancer research and related programs. The V Foundation is guided every day by the motto of their founder: "Don't Give Up . . . Don't Ever Give Up!"
