Tony Nominees Kate Baldwin & Erin Dilly Join Cast of SONGBIRD at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters has announced that Tony Award nominees Kate Baldwin (Big Fish, Finian's Rainbow) and Erin Dilly (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Christmas Story, The Musical) have joined the cast of SONGBIRD, which is part of 59E59 Theaters' 5A Season.

Baldwin and Dilly join previously announced cast members Kacie Sheik (Hair on Broadway); Andy Taylor (Once, On TheTwentieth Century); Ephie Aardema (Parade at Lincoln Center In Concert); and Adam Cochran (The Last Goodbye at The Old Globe). Baldwin replaces the previously announced Amy Spanger.

Dreams, ambition, love, and heartbreak. SONGBIRD, a Tennessee fiction based on Anton Chekov's The Seagull, is a striking new show about a fading country star returning home to Nashville." about a fading country star returning home to Nashville. After many years away, Tammy returns to the Honky Tonk that launched her music career to help the son she abandoned launch his own. But with jealousy and self destruction (along with copious amounts of whiskey) fueling this homecoming, will Tammy's arrival do more harm than good?

SONGBIRD, featuring a sultry soundtrack with heartbreaking ballads and soaring anthems, pays homage to music and lyricist writer Lauren Pritchard's Nashville roots.

SONGBIRD a play with music written by Michael Kimmel (The Last Goodbye at The Old Globe) with music & lyrics by Lauren Pritchard (singer/songwriter, Wasted in Jackson), and directed by JV Mercanti. Produced by Allison Bressi and Diana Buckhantz, by special association with Less Than Rent Theatre, SONGBIRD begins performances on October 20 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 29.
