The Directors Company in association with Invictus Theatre Company presents an industry-only reading of Anna Simone Scott's latest play STRANGER IN MY HOUSE, directed by Michael Parva, on January 11, 2016 at 3PM. The reading will star four-time Tony Award Nominee Tovah Feldshuh (TV: "The Walking Dead"; Broadway: Irena's Vow, Pippin, Golda's Balcony), Olivia Oguma (Broadway: Les Miserables. TV: "Odd Mom Out") and John Stanisci (Broadway: Irena's Vow).

Scott's Stranger In My House explores the contentious relationship between a famous actress (Feldshuh) grappling with her own self-doubts and her beleaguered son (Stanisci) who is reluctantly working as her assistant. The dramatic comedy follows the actress as she jeopardizes her reputation and her relationship with her son for one last shot at glory on the stage. A stranger in the form of an ambitious marine biology student (Oguma) becomes a catalyst for change in their lives.

ANNA SIMONE SCOTT (Playwright) Recipient of British Academy of Film and Television Arts /LA Platinum Award 'Best Film and Screenplay' for her film, Chasing Chekhov at BAFTA/LA Member Film Festival. Other award winning films: "The Aerial Girl" (directorial debut) Courts Métrage, Cannes Film Festival, PBS. Coming Into Money, The Red Scarf. Plays: The Red Scarf: Summer Theatre Festival; The Grass Couch: Shorts & Briefs: The Stella Adler Theatre, Hollywood. Chasing Chekhov: The Complex Theatre; Women in Theatre Festival; Theatre East in LA. (Valley Theatre League Award). Recent: wrote/directed Finding Momma - Best Comedy Nom at Great Lakes International Film Festival, PA. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and Fine Arts Arts from Sydney, Australia. In London, her first job was at The Royal Court Theatre with the prestigious Young People's Playwrights Program. Leading roles on stage in London and many Repertory Theatres throughout Britain plsu Off -Broadway. Studied Script Interpretation with Stella Adler; Jane Anderson's Writer Bloc. Currently writing a feature to direct: Love Is Art, Art Is Love, based on a classic play.

Recent Off-Broadway productions include the world premieres of The Road to Damascus by Tom Dulack, On a Stool at the End of the Bar by Robert Callely and Almost Home by Walter Anderson, Jericho and Poetic License by Jack Canfora, directed by Evan Bergman, and Murder in the First by Dan Gordon, directed by Michael Parva.
