PEOPLE shares the happy news that Sean Hayes (Broadway's "Promises Promises") is engaged to L.A. music producer Scott Icenogle.

Speculation on the engagement began when the actor appeared on CBS's 'The Talk' yesterday wearing a band on his left finger. Later in the day, his rep confirmed to RumorFix, "Sean Hayes and Scott Icenogle have been together for eight years. They are not yet married, but they have been engaged for quite some time."

The 44-year-old actor, who currently stars in the CBS comedy "The Millers," came out publicly in 2010 in an exclusive interview with The Advocate. At the time, he told the magazine, "I spend time with a special someone in my life," he told the magazine. "That's it. That's all I need ... It's fantastic." Looks like we now know who that special someone was.

Congratuations to the happy couple!

Hayes most recently appeared on TV in Sean Saves the World, The Millers, Smash and Up All Night, and is well known for his role as 'Jack' on Will & Grace. The actor last appeared on Broadway in 2010's Promises, Promises, opposite Kristin Chenoweth; he was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance.

Hayes' feature film credits include the Bobby and Peter Farrelly comedy "The Three Stooges," "The Bucket List," opposite Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, and the independent drama "Pieces of April," opposite Katie Holmes, Patricia Clarkson and Oliver Platt.
