Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has just announced that Dan Knechtges will serve as Director and Choreographer for the upcoming production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The show, based on the book of the same name by Shepherd Mead, will run from October 25 - November 6, 2016 at the Hobby Center For the Performing Arts. This will be Mr. Knechtges first time working with TUTS.

Knechtges was nominated for both a Tony and a Drama Desk award for his work on the 2007 Broadway production of Xanadu. Other credits include Lysistrata Jones (2011), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2005), 110 in the Shade (2007 revival), and Sondheim on Sondheim (2010).

TUTS Artistic Advisor, Sheldon Epps says, "Dan is one of the smartest, most clever, and downright funny director/choreographers that I've had the pleasure to work with. He approaches his work with clarity, passion, and great theatricality. It's a pleasure to have all of those qualities here at TUTS. He is an ideal choice for this classic American musical. I know that he will bring both great respect to the material along with a fresh approach and energy that will make it surprisingly new and exciting!"

Joining Knechtges will be Jeff Rizzo as Musical Director. Most recently, Mr. Rizzo was the Musical Director and Conductor for the TUTS production of Disney's Mary Poppins in March, 2016. He also conducted the revival National Tour and Asian Tour of 42nd Street, and musically directed Madison Square Garden's The Wizard of Oz starring Roseanne Barr, the subsequent national tour, and the Grammy-nominated cast recording starring Mickey Rooney and Eartha Kitt. Other credits include the U.S. premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd starring Glenn Close, the 2nd and 4th National Tours of Annie. He also served as audition accompanist for the film of Dreamgirls.

The Theatre Under The Stars production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying is possible thanks to the generous support of Northwestern Mutual, and our 2016/17 Season Sponsor Children's MemoriAl Hermann Hospital.
