Lindsey Ferrentino's new play Moonlight on the Bayou will have a staged reading this Friday, May 3rd, 4:30pm at The Marilyn Monroe Theatre in New York (115 E. 15th St). The reading is directed by Patricia McGregor (Hurt Village, The Mountaintop), after being developed with renown dramaturg Mark Bly (33 Variations).

Moonlight on the Bayou features Tony Award nominee Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Ghost, What Rhymes with America), Don Harvey (That Championship Season, Julius Caesar) and Jedadiah Schultz (On the Line, The Laramie Project).

In Moonlilght on the Bayou, oil rig worker Sonny must come off the rig to care for his aging father and win back his pregnant girlfriend. Increasingly sleep deprived, Sonny can't stop having nightmares about his father's legends of New Orleans. Can he recreate home in a post-Katrina FEMA trailer before its too late?

The play is a current finalist for The Leah Ryan Emerging Writer's Award.

Lindsey Ferrentino is a New York-based playwright whose work has been performed/developed by The Kennedy Center Theatre Lab, Atlantic Theatre Company, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, The Blank in LA, among others. The Philadelphia Theatre Company recently nominated her for the Terence McNally Playwriting Award, she is a runner up for the 2013/2014 Kendeda Prize, and recipient of The Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship and Residency.
