Tony DeSare - the acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter - will perform selections from his new Top 10 CD, "Last First Kiss," at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room from March 6 - 17.

Joining his modern pop sensibility with classic style, the show features Prince's "Kiss" and Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move," along with standards like "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" and "There Will Never Be Another You." All performances are at the Oak Room (59 West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues).

He will be joined by legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, in addition to his sidemen Mike Lee on bass and Brian Czach on drums. The CD, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard chart and #5 on the Amazon.com ranking, was recently featured on NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday." He has performed his music, including the theme to the hit documentary film My Date With Drew, on the CBS Early Show, NBC Weekend Today and Fox News Channel. He will also be doing a free in-store performance and CD signing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 14 at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center (1972 Broadway at 66th Street).

"'Last First Kiss' is more of a crossover, mainstream sounding record," says DeSare. "It's very accessible, but at the same time, I feel I was able to maintain a high level of musical integrity." "One thing that differentiates the ascending career of Tony DeSare from his contemporaries (think Jamie Cullum, Peter Cincotti and Michael Buble) is his ability as a songwriter, something which is superbly showcased on 'Last First Kiss,' the follow-up to his 2005 debut, 'Want You,'" state press materials.

The album also features the legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, keyboardist Tedd Firth, a horn section with Bob Malach and Harry Allen on tenor saxophones, Glenn Drewes on trumpet, and Keith O'Quinn on trombone.

DeSare has performed at Birdland, the Cafe Carlyle and Jazz at Lincoln Center, among other venues.  He has starred in Our Sinatra, and was personally selected by Sam Arlen, son of Harold Arlen - the composer of classic songs like "Over The Rainbow," "Get Happy," and "Stormy Weather," to perform with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Birdland for the 2005 Harold Arlen Centennial.
