Tongue in Cheek Theater Productions presents its Summer 2012 Plus One Solo Show Festival on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 at 8 pm at The Bridge Theatre in midtown NYC.

Both evenings of the Plus One Solo Show Festival showcase four seriously funny solo shows plus musical guest Sarah Aili, on topics as diverse as cookies, love, work and crack:

And She Bakes by Daliya Karnofsky (Naked in a Fishbowl), directed by Billy Griffin, is an interactive baking show, seasoned with sex and relationship advice.

The Circle Flying Dance, by Myla Pitt, revisits the freedom and anarchy of her girlhood in the 1960s.

Welcome to the Hallmark Card Emporium, by Megan Melnyk, greets three different women as they get through their workday. Developed with Peter Michael Marino.

Rooftops, by Jim Chu, follows his teenage years through the crack-infested tenement in the 1980s. Directed by Russell G. Jones (LAByrinth Theatre Company).

Performer Sarah Aili (The Glory of Love) returns to the festival as a singer/songwriter, sharing tunes from her new EP album, “100 Days.”

The Summer 2012 Plus One Solo Show Festival marks the festival’s seventh showing of original works, and Tongue in Cheek Theater Productions’ nineteenth production. The festival is curated by Tongue in Cheek Theater Productions’ Producing Artistic Director Jake Lipman and stage managed by Allison Lemel. BlogCritics.org writes, “Kudos to Ms. Lipman and Tongue in Cheek Theater for making manifest what's funny, and what's sneakily smart.” Performances are two nights only: Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 8 pm at the Bridge Theatre @ Shetler Studios, located at 44 West 54th Street, 12th Floor, between 7th and 8th Avenues in New York City. The theater is accessible from the B, D, E train to 7th Avenue, N, Q, R, W to 57th Street, and the A, C, 1 to 59th Street/Columbus Circle. Tickets are $20 online at www.tictheater.com or by telephoning 212-868-4444.
