Broadway In Chicago is proud to announce a special casting for the upcoming engagement of the Broadway smash hit musical, CHICAGO, returning to its namesake to play the Cadillac Palace Theatre, November 22 – December 4, 2005. Broadway veteran Tom Wopat, known to millions as Luke Duke from the popular TV series, Dukes of Hazzard, will star as Billy Flynn. Casting for the rest of the company is not yet announced.

Tom Wopat made his Broadway debut in Cy Coleman and Michael Stewart's I Love My Wife. He most recently appeared in Broadway's Glengarry Glen Ross before returning to the road. Mr. Wopat also starred in the Tony Award-winning revival of 42nd Street. This marked his return to Broadway after a nearly two-year run as Frank Butler opposite Bernadette Peters in Annie Get Your Gun, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. Off-Broadway he starred with Amy Irving in The Guys. Tom Wopat has released several successful albums with CBS and Capitol Records, yielding several top-20 hits.

CHICAGO, winner of 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and a Grammy Award for its cast recording, has the distinction of being Broadway's longest running revival, still SRO is beginning its 9th year at the Ambassador Theatre in New York. Its story of two real life murderesses and a lawyer who turns them into media celebrities is a page right of today's newspapers.

Produced by Tony Award winners, Barry and Fran Weissler and under the Tony Award winning direction of Walter Bobbie and spotlighting the Tony Award winning choreography by Ann Reinking for the New York production in the style of the legendary Bob Fosse re-created by Gary Chryst, CHICAGO features the "razzle-dazzle" music and lyrics of master Broadway multi-award winning composers John Kander and Fred Ebb, with book by Mr. Ebb and the late Bob Fosse.

The immense worldwide success of CHICAGO spawned the Academy Award winning film version. But, seeing it live is an experience audiences never forget. The jazz, the style, the music, and the dancing all add up to an experience that will exhilarate. CHICAGO is a production not to be missed. And all the reviewers agree. Time Magazine calls it "A Triumph," Newsweek raves "Smashing" and Entertainment Weekly sums it up by calling CHICAGO "Broadway's Most Electrifying Show."
