Beginning Monday, November 3, the Broadway company of the international musical smash CHICAGO is pleased to welcome Tony Award nominee Tom Hewitt in the role of "that silver-tongued prince of the courtroom," the slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn.
A Broadway regular, Tom Hewitt received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for his unforgettable performance as Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. His other Broadway credits include Dracula, The Musical; The Boys form Syracuse; Disney's The Lion King (Scar); School for Scandal and The Sisters Rosenzweig.
His national touring credits include Urinetown and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for which he received a Touring Broadway Award. He has been seen Off-Broadway in Jeffrey, Beau Jest (Outer Critics Circle nomination), Richard III and Othello.
Hewitt's television and film credits include "Third Watch;" "Frasier;" "All My Children;" narration for The Discovery, History and National Geographic channels and
Julie Taymor's Fool's Fire.
As Billy Flynn, Hewitt succeeds Tony Award nominee
Tom Wopat, who plays his final performance on Sunday, November 2, prior to kicking off the tenth national tour of CHICAGO in Charlotte, NC on Tuesday, November 11.
Now celebrating eleven glorious years of girls, glitz and glamour on the Great White Way, the razzle-dazzle hit CHICAGO is the second longest-running production currently playing on Broadway, as well as Broadway's longest-running musical revival...and it shows no sign of slowing down!
Currently playing at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.), CHICAGO stars
Michelle DeJean as Roxie Hart (through Sunday, November 2), Tony Award nominee
Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly,
Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and
Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton.
As previously announced, two-time Tony Award nominee
Charlotte d'Amboise returns to the Broadway company as Roxie Hart beginning Monday, November 3.
