The Triad and the Just A Piano Concert Series presents CARMEN RUBY FLOYD in "An Eclectic Musical Evening: From Rock to Opera and Her Journey In Between" on August 16 at 9:00pm. Ms. Floyd's credits include Broadway's Tony Award Winning "Avenue Q," Disney's "The Lion King" and Off-Broadway in the original casts of shows such as the critically acclaimed "Crowns," "Little Ham" (about which New York Times critic Bruce Weber wrote"...the swagger and big voice of Carmen Ruby Floyd...provided a shot of star quality and star charisma...") and "Blind Lemon Blues." Carmen made her Carnegie Hall debut in the classic recent revival of "Showboat."

Currently, she can be seen in Cover Girl's "Inspiration" campaign and Quilted Northern commercials and is also soon to be featured on ABC's "One Life To Live."

Ms. Floyd is married to "Memphis" star J. Bernard Calloway. Influenced by her family's gospel choir, her father's faith in rock-n-roll, her mother's love of movie musicals and her own personal fascination with Barbra, Lena, Billie and Nina, Carmen Ruby Floyd will take us on a thrilling "Just A Piano" musical journey.

The evening will feature the award winning Michael Mitchell on piano.

Lee Summers' Just A Piano SM Concert Series has presented top vocal artists and singing to JUST A PIANO by the industry's top pianists since 2006 at New York's most beautifully refurbished venue, the historic Triad Theatre. The list of artists includes Tony Award Winners, Lillias White, Adriane Lenox and LaChanze, 3 Time Grammy Nominee/Tony Winner Melba Moore, Two-time Grammy Winner Caron Wheeler, Grammy Nominee Ryan Shaw, Rhett George from the 2010 Tony Winner for Best Musical, "Memphis" and many more.
