Time Warp! FOX's ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Unveils New Details at TCA Panel

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, a brand-new reimagining of the cult-classic midnight movie 40 years in the making, premieres Thursday, Oct. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The ROCKY HORROR team chatted it up at this year's TCA panel, and BroadwayWorld has all the details!

- ROCKY HORROR will include a show-within-a-show where "we'll watch an audience of fans playing out the callbacks."

- The president of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW Fan Club will make an appearance in the event.

- The music will be true to the original but with a "contemporary" flare.

- Director, Kenny Ortega, has assured fans that all performers will do their own singing. "Every note coming out of every mouth."

-Performers went through a full month of rehearsal.

- Executive producer, Gail Berman, says that this project followed her to her different networks and studio jobs for ten years.

- The original Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Tim Curry, has had enthusiastic involvement in the project and personally approved Laverne Cox's first rehearsal of the number, "Sweet Transvestite."

-A new song for the film will not be included in the broadcast but will be featured on a DVD set for release one month after the show airs.

About ROCKY HORROR on FOX: The special two-hour musical event follows sweethearts JANET (Victoria Justice, co-host of TEEN CHOICE 2016, "Victorious") and BRAD (Ryan McCartan, "Liv & Maddie," "Heathers the Musical"), who stumble upon DR. FRANK-N-FURTER's (Emmy Award-nominated actress Laverne Cox, "Doubt," "Orange is the New Black") bizarre abode.
