Time Warner Cable (TWC), as part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, today announced that it is sponsoring three upcoming conferences that support African-American and Hispanic communities. The company is sponsoring the annual conferences for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and National Urban League (NUL). In addition, TWC will air Public Service Announcements in support of the organizations and have an employment booth at each event to continue its commitment to recruiting a diverse workforce.
"Whether it's about our people, our programming or the communities where our customers live, Time Warner Cable has a long tradition of championing and leveraging our diverse perspectives," said Jerrell Moore, TWC's Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion. "In that spirit, we're proud to support LULAC, NCLR and NUL - world-class organizations that share our commitment to embracing different perspectives and creating better opportunities for people, including our customers and employees, across the country."
TWC was named a Top Company for People of Color by the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications. The list was compiled based on several categories, including the hiring and promotion of people of color to its management and workforce, as well as the alignment of diversity with its business goals and objectives. "LULAC values its partnership with Time Warner Cable. The company shares LULAC's commitment to diversity and recognizes the importance of working to advance the needs of minority communities," said Brent Wilkes, LULAC's National Executive Director.
"Time Warner Cable's support of the 2014 NCLR Annual Conference and National Latino Family Expo provides great assets to these events and to our participants. This collaboration will contribute to the success of the most anticipated national gathering of Latino change-makers as we gather on issues that impact all Americans," said Ron Estrada, NCLR Vice President, Integrated Marketing and Events.
