MATILDA composer and lyricist Tim Minchin just hosted a question and answer session with The Guardian, during which he discussed his appreciation of Roald Dahl, writing music, and his newest project: a stage adaptation of the Howard Ramis film "Groundhog Day."
When asked about the production of Groundhog Day, Minchin revealed that they had just finished the first workshop of the show on Saturday in London. "I'm incredibly impatient to see it on it's feet," he said.
Minchin has already performed "Seeing You," a song from the musical, at Hyde Park, and was pleased that the audience seemed to react to it strongly.
"I hasten to add, not all the songs are so emotional! There's heaps of comedy and a predictable tendency towards too many lyrics," he assured the online community.
