During his six-year stint on "SNL," Fallon ventured outside NBC with great success. Small parts in Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous" and Tom Hanks' and Steven Spielberg's "Band of Brothers" led to starring roles in the feature films "Taxi," with Queen Latifah, and "Fever Pitch" with Drew Barrymore.
In March of 2009 Fallon took over the Late Night legacy begun by David Letterman and Conan O'Brien and premiered "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." The show immediately garnered attention for viral videos, audience games, and A-list guests. Fallon's choice of house-band, The Roots, has been universally praised. The hip-hop legends were immediately embraced by fans and critics, and their latest album "How I Got Over" debuted in the top ten on the Billboard charts.

In 2006, Benson began hosting a weekly comedy podcast, titled Doug Loves Movies (Formerly I Love Movies with Doug Benson). Benson's guests have included such notables as John Lithgow, Leonard Maltin, Brian Posehn, Joe Rogan, Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Patton Oswalt, Jon Hamm, Adam Carolla, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Scott Aukerman, Adam Scott, Bill Simmons, Aziz Ansari, Amy Poehler, Elisabeth Shue, Aubrey Plaza, Michael Cera, Edgar Wright, Paul F. Tompkins, T.J. Miller and Jordan, the baseball-toting superfan.
A regular feature of the podcast is the Leonard Maltin Game, which has been described as Name That Tune with movies instead of songs. The game consists of Benson reading the cast of an unknown movie in reverse order (star of the movie comes last) from Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide to his guests, who attempt to guess the movie.
