The theme for the 2007 edition of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS' annual event Broadway Bares was announced and ticket sales for the hotly anticipated event were officially launched tonight at the monthly "NextWorks" event hosted by Next Magazine at the popular Chelsea nightspot SBNY (Splash).  "Broadway Bares XVII – Myth Behavior" was announced from the stage at Splash by Tony Award-nominee and long time Broadway Cares supporter Christopher Sieber (Spamalot, Into the Woods, ABC's "It's All Relative") who acted as Emcee at the launch party.

"A video montage of the photo shoot for the 'Bares XVII' ad campaign and promotional calendar featuring the chiseled physiques of Zeus, Medusa, Bacchus, Cupid, Neptune and a host of other denizens of Mount Olympus portrayed with god-like perfection by Broadway's hottest dancers was screened by the enthusiastic capacity crowd at Splash," as BC/EFA notes describe.

"Broadway Bares is the hotly anticipated annual event combines the naughtiness of burlesque and the razzle-dazzle of Broadway and has been a smashing success since its inception. Created by Tony Award winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell, the event features the hottest male and female dancers on Broadway and has become one of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS' signature events. The launch event was a homecoming of sorts for BC/EFA.  The First 'Broadway Bares' was presented in 1991 by "Bares" founder Jerry Mitchell and the Broadway Company of The Will Rogers Follies at Splash bar. Eight dancers 'in rotation' on the bar raised over $8,000. Since then, the event has continuously performed to sell out crowds in some of Manhattan's largest night clubs and grossed over $4,000,000 for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS."

Returning to direct 'Broadway Bares XVII' for a third year is Denis Jones, who us currently assisting Jerry Mitchell on the Broadway bound new musical Legally Blonde Mitchell will return to 'Bares' this year as Executive Producer.  The event will feature work by the following artists, as well.
