Tickets for the star-studded Playwrights Horizon production of James Lapine's Fran's Bed will go on sale on August 9th; the drama begins previews on the theatre's mainstage on August 30th, opens on September 25th and plays a limited run through October 9th.
Mia Farrow will star in the title role of the play, which will also be staged by Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Falsettos). Supporting her in the cast are Julia Stiles, Harris Yulin (Hedda Gabler), Heather Burns (Writer's Block, Lobby Hero), Brenda Pressley (Dreamgirls) and Marcia DeBonis (MCC's Blue Window). While best known for their film work, both Farrow and Stiles have appeared on New York and London stages--Farrow in Romantic Comedy and The Exonerated, and Stiles in a Shakespeare in the Park Twelfth Night and in Oleanna in London. Stiles and Burns appear as Farrow's daughter in Fran's Bed."Incapacitated, surrounded by her family, Fran guides us
on an unpredictable journey into her past in an effort to help
understand her present situation." Production notes also call the play "an offbeat, colorful tale of a woman at a midlife
crossroads."
