Single tickets for La Jolla Playhouse's 2007/2008 season go on sale Sunday, May 6th at noon.

As previously announced, the season includes:

Carmen / June 5 - July 22, 2007: "Dazzling imagery, original Flamenco music and dance infuse this passionate tale of the gypsy enchantress first introduced in Prosper Mérimée's novella.  A new musical adaptation directed by Cirque du Soleil director Franco Dragone," state press notes.

The Deception / July 17 - Aug. 19, 2007: "Suspecting her husband-to-be of betrayal, a young heiress disguises herself as a knight to woo the hand of the countess he desires.  Theatre de la Jeune Lune (The Miser) brings its incomparable wit to this new adaptation of an 18th century romp.:

After the Quake/ July 24 - Aug. 26, 2007: "An enchanting, moving and haunting play, after the quake interweaves two short stories by Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami, written in the aftermath of the 1995 Kobe, Japan earthquake."

The Adding Machine/ Sept. 11 - Oct. 7, 2007: "Meet Mr. Zero, a number cruncher of 25 years who, after being informed he will be replaced by a machine, murders his boss."

Cry-Baby / Nov. 6 - Dec. 23, 2007: "Wade 'Cry-Baby' Walker is a rebel with a cause - truth, justice and the pursuit of rock 'n' roll.  The John Waters cult film gets a theatrical polish in this hilarious new musical!"

The Seven/ Feb. 12 - Mar. 16, 2008: "Urban rhyming verse and diverse musical styles fill this new telling of Aeschylus' story of a cursed family and a society unsure of how to free itself from war. Greek tragedy meets hip-hop in writer/composer Will Power's modern adaptation."

The Edge: Most Wanted / A Page To Stage Workshop Production / Oct. 2 - Oct. 14, 2007: "This new program brings the most adventurous work to the Playhouse stages.  Provocative and compelling, this musical theatre piece explores America's obsession with the cult of celebrity through the lens of the media frenzy surrounding a spree killer and his insatiable appetite for fame."
