A limited number of tickets are now on sale for Broadway Meets Country, an exclusive benefit concert raising funds for both The Actors' Fund of America and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The concert is a collaborative effort between The League of American Theatres and Producers and the Country Music Association (CMA). Broadway Meets Country will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 11:00 p.m. in The Allen Room at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center (Broadway at West 60th Street, NYC).

Broadway Meets Country, will be co-hosted by Tony Award-winner and Broadway leading man, Brian Stokes Mitchell and country music superstar Lee Ann Womack, who is nominated for six 2005 CMA Awards (Female Vocalist, Single, Album, Music Video and two for Musical Event of the Year).

This concert, presented by Anheuser-Busch, Inc. and Michelob Ultra, is presented as part of a weeklong series of events leading up to "The 39th Annual CMA Awards" (broadcast live on CBS Television, Nov. 15, from Madison Square Garden, NYC) also known as Country Takes New York City. "The concert celebrates the universality and crossover appeal of these two popular musical genres and some of their best performers," according to press notes.

In addition to performances by hosts Mitchell and Womack, also scheduled to appear at Broadway Meets Country are Broadway's Jason Danieley, Reneé Elise Goldsberry, Marin Mazzie, Andrea McArdle, Idina Menzel, Donna Murphy, James Naughton, Marian Seldes, Ben Vereen and Patrick Wilson, along with country music's Trace Adkins, Glen Campbell, Billy Currington, Raul Malo, Richie McDonald, Jamie O'Neal, Julie Roberts, Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood. Stephen Oremus (Wicked, Avenue Q) will serve as the evening's musical director and arranger.

Those attending the 75-minute concert will have the opportunity to hear classic Broadway songs reinterpreted by country music artists and classic country songs performed by Broadway talent. Among the musical highlights are:

Glen Campbell's rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel

Billy Currington singing "On The Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady

Marin Mazzie performing the Dolly Parton single "9 to 5"

Andrea McArdle's rendition of "Fancy," first made popular by Bobbie Gentry and later, by Reba McEntire

Donna Murphy performing Don Hecht & Alan Block's "Walking After Midnight"

James Naughton performing Johnny Cash's single "I've Been Everywhere"

Carrie Underwood and Patrick Wilson's duet, "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors

Ben Vereen performing Roger Miller's classic "King of the Road"

Trisha Yearwood and Idina Menzel's duet, "For Good" from Wicked
