Tickets are now available for the New York premiere of the final installment in internationally celebrated choreographer and director Matthew Bourne's Tchaikovsky trilogy, SLEEPING BEAUTY, set to run October 23 through November 3 at New York's City Center.

Begun in 1992 with NUTCRACKER! and continuing on with the enduring all-male SWAN LAKE, Bourne's Tchaikovsky trilogy comes to a conclusion now with this visionary new take on the classic tale of long-lost love found again.

The original cast of the production will continue with the new stateside edition, including Hannah Vassallo and Ashley Shaw sharing the central role of Aurora. More information on the cast is available here.

The official description of Matthew Bourne's SLEEPING BEAUY is as follows: "Sleeping Beauty sees Matthew Bourne and his company, New Adventures, return to the music of Tchaikovsky to complete the trio of the composer's ballet masterworks that started in 1992 with Nutcracker! and continued in 1995 with the international hit Swan Lake. Charles Perrault's timeless fairy tale about a young girl cursed to sleep for one hundred years was turned into a legendary ballet by Tchaikovsky and choreographer Marius Petipa in 1890. Bourne takes this date as his starting point, setting the christening of Aurora, the story's heroine, at the height of the fin-de-siecle period, when fairies, vampires and decadent opulence fed the gothic imagination. Years later, awakening from her century-long slumber, Aurora finds herself in the modern day, a world more mysterious and wonderful than any fairy tale."

More information on the New York premiere of Matthew Bourne's SLEEPING BEAUTY at City Center is available at the official site here.
