The Threepenny Opera star Cyndi Lauper will be featured on CBS "Sunday Morning" on Sunday, April 23rd at 9:00-10:30AM. Tune in to hear Lauper discuss her Broadway debut in the Roundabout revival.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is thrilled to present Tony® award winning Alan Cumming (Macheath), Tony® and Grammy® award winning Jim Dale (Mr. Peachum), Grammy® and Emmy® award winning Cyndi Lauper (Jenny), Ana Gasteyer (Mrs. Peachum) and Nellie McKay as (Polly) in a new Broadway production of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera, directed by Scott Elliott and choreographed by Aszure Barton on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). This production marks the world premiere of Wallace Shawn's translation of the original German book and lyrics.

This is a limited engagement through June 18, 2006.

The cast of The Threepenny Opera also includes Christopher Innvar (Tiger Brown), Carlos Leon (Filtch), Brian Charles Rooney (Lucy) and Adam Alexi-Malle, Terry Burrell, Brian Butterick, David Cale, Romain Fruge, John Herrera, Nehal Joshi, Christopher Kenney, Maureen Moore, Brooke Sunny Moriber, Deborah Lew, Valisia Lekae Little, Kevin Joseph Rennard, Lucas Steele.

The Threepenny Opera has been honored with a Drama League Award nomination for Distinguished Revival of a Musical. Cyndi Lauper, Alan Cumming and Jim Dale have also been honored with Drama League Award nominations for Distinguished Performance.

The Threepenny Opera serves up a deliciously dark satire of "respectable" society, with dashing thieves, saucy prostitutes, and lingering melodies. Based on Elizabeth Hauptmann's German translation of John Gay's eighteenth-century The Beggar's Opera , The Threepenny Opera thrusts the audience into the seedy underworld of Mack the Knife, a dapper criminal and his wry love affair with Polly Peachum.
