One of the three winners of the popular nationwide puppet contest "Win a One Night Stand on Avenue Q" will be graced with the added experience of making their Broadway debut in March and appearing on stage with the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical.

"Avenue Q fans can show their appreciation to puppet winners Miss Greta Green (by Joe Kovacs of New York City), Kitty Swallows (by Theresa Cullen of Glendale, California), and Maurice Tipo (by Andrew MacDonald-Smith of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) by logging online at www.avenueq.com from Feb. 1 to 28 and help choose which of the three winners they think should live a dream-come-true and appear on a Broadway stage at a performance of Avenue Q in March," state press notes.

On one weekend in early March (date TBA), the three winners will be flown to New York on Jet Blue Airlines and will stay at the Renaissance New York Hotel in Times Square. They will dine at a restaurant in the theatre district, see a performance of Avenue Q and meet the cast back stage after the show. At that time, it will be announced which winner will receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appear on a Broadway stage that same weekend!

The show's "One Night Stand" contest kicked off last year by on the musical's website by posing the question: "What if there was a 'one night' vacancy on Avenue Q? Does your puppet have what it takes to join the famous cast of characters?"

Avenue Q -- recipient of three 2004 Tony Awards, including Best Musical -- is a musical about moving to New York with big dreams and a tiny bank account. Now in its 3rd year on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45 St.), where it recently celebrated its 1000th performance, the show is also playing a second production in September for an unlimited engagement at Wynn Las Vegas (3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South).

Avenue Q has music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Directed by Jason Moore, the musical has puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon. Avenue Q is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller, Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.
