The violence, senselessness, rage, inequality and inhumanity overflowing our news feeds and filling our daily life is overwhelming. With a wall of hate standing so tall before us, how can we even start to tear it down?
Three Day Hangover has decided to respond by doing what they're good at: gathering our community and making something positive happen. They're re-imagining the "Power Hour" by presenting Three Day Hangover's EmPOWER HOUR! Sixty minutes packed with thoughtful expressions of strength, hope and compassion that answer the question, "What empowers you?"
We're going to gather together to raise a glass and celebrate all the things we're sure about - community, creativity, bravery and, especially, love as the strongest force for change we've got. We're going to harness the power of storytelling, artistic expression and honest-to-goodness, face-to-face conversation to remember what makes us strong. An amazing lineup of performers will come at you hard with magical moments to connect us, inform us, delight us and remind us of the best angels of our nature. We'll share resources for those interested in getting educated and getting involved, and all evening we'll be raising funds for a number of organizations that advocate for social justice and gun control.
We won't solve all the problems we're facing in a night, but we'll envision together what steps we can take to start to make the world a better place.
Tickets are PAY WHAT YOU CAN, with 100% of the proceeds going to local charities dedicated to ending gun violence and advocating for social justice. You can reserve online or donate at www.threedayhangover.com. Tickets will also be available at the door
Remember, you're a powerful force for positive change, and we're even stronger when we stand together. We hope you'll join us.
THREE DAY HANGOVER, the creative team behind the off-Broadway hit and New York Times Critic's Pick Drunk Shakespeare, is a New York City theater company that produces fresh, unexpected, immersive, joyful productions of classic plays in unique locations. We meet our audiences on their turf, telling great stories and celebrating some of the most beautiful language in the world. We want our audiences to have a beer and relax, then we want them to lean forward and get swept up in the story in a way they've never seen before. Their productions of Tartuffe, Dracula, The HAMLET Project: Summer in the City, R+J: Star-Cross'd Death Match, Twelfth Night or, Sir Toby Belch's Lonely Hearts Club Cabaret, Drunkle Vanya, and Hank V enjoyed rave reviews, sold out runs and extensions and, most importantly, some of the feistiest, most engaged and raucous audiences New York City has ever seen.
