"The show will feature some of New York's finest talent--both undiscovered and established," according to press notes. The second installment of a new series, it will feature a cavalcade of singers covering the music of thier favorite "diva". Saycon Sengbloh (AIDA, Rent, Wicked, www.saycon-online.com), Natalie Joy Johnson (BARE, www.nataliejoyjohnson.com), Mollie Weaver (singer/songwriter, www.mollieweaver.com) and Leslie Kritzer (Hairspray, Funny Girl, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, www.lesliekritzer.com) are all slated to perform. Of course, there will be plenty of unannounced surprises as well!
Thomas is in the Wicked ensemble. He made his Broadway debut at age 10 in "The Secret Garden". Off-Broadway, he has appeared in Yo Alice, Warm, The Black Nativity and Emma, and regionally in The Wizard of Oz, Mame, The No-Frills Revue, Grease and Merrily We Roll Along. In 2001, Thomas, an accomplished child performer who made his Broadway debut in The Secret Garden and appeared on "Star Search" (beating out Britney Spears for 1992 Junior Vocalist Champion), released his Billboard debut on West End Records--"Resurrect Me (Lift Me Up);" he earned a Grammy nomination and won Billboard's Song of the Year in the gospel/contemporary Christian category. In 2004, he and his band released a self-titled CD of covers which ranges in style from country to rock to showtunes.
